~ ANNOUNCEMENT ~
Regretfully, due to a serious family illness I have not had the time to get enough of the May issue of Carpe Nocturne together to post. I am getting some help so as that we can get together a good June issue for everyone.
This means we will keep this issue up until June. We may post a few updates in this current issue though for upcoming events. So, keep checking back.
Other than switching to the new site, we have never missed an issue of Carpe Nocturne. We are an all volunteer staffed publication and everyone works hard to bring our readers new issues every month. Unfortunately, all final production is done by me and with the amount of time I’m spending out of town at the hospital, I, as publisher, was just unable to get an issue out. I’m truly sorry and thank you for your understanding. Bob Donovan Publisher.

THE BLACKSUN HEATS UP AGAIN!
BLACKSUN FESTIVAL IV
March 14-16th, 2008
New Haven, CT

This years Blacksun Festival was the 4th consecutive Blacksun event in New Haven, CT. In was the same in that aspect as well as it brought members of the New Dark Culture and its most popular bands from around the world to one location for 3 days. Also, as each previous year, it was better still this year! Other than that, there were any changes.
This year’s event was held in mid-March rather than the usual late summer scheduling. This made for a cooler, more comfortable event, easier to get hotels, not competing with other events anywhere in the world and, the schedule allowed for the dream lineup to perform!
With bands such as Iris, Atrition, Seabound, Ego Likeness, The Azoic, Assemblage 23, Fetish Dolly, and You Shriek along with over a dozen other of the scene’s top acts from around the world, you just have to know this is going to be one wild weekend! On top of these great artists there are also some the biggest name DJs spinning throughout the weekend such as 
DJs Addambombb, Znuh!, Ian Fford, Damian Plague, and others, the dance floors will be packed with some of the most colorful people you will ever see!
Blacksun isn’t just music though! There are other things going on throughout the weekend such as the Artist’s Invitational for the art lovers, the Crypt Tour where you get to see, explore and photograph the gothic cemeteries and crypts of one of New England’s oldest towns, the Vendor’s Marketplace where you can get just about anything related to the culture from art to jewelry; music to magazines; bully (bullet) belts and so much more!
On top of that is the Photo Safari which is a fiesta for the photographers, models and simply those who want to attend and watch or be in the pictures! And, then there are the Panels; this year’s panels included The Art of Gothic Belly Dance, DJ 101, and Marketing Techniques for Bands, Promoters and Vendors.
As usual, this year Carpe Nocturne will do a night by night, day by day and event by event coverage over the next several issues starting with this, the April, issue. This month we will feature all of the bands of the First Night of Blacksun Festival IV. Next month (May Issue) we will feature the DJ’s of Blacksun Festival as well as a Beautiful People pictorial of those in attendance at this year’s event. We will follow it up in the June issue with Saturday Day and Nighttime Coverage of bands and so forth. So, be sure to keep checking back so you can get all the details and see all the pictures from this year’s BLACKSUN FESTIVAL IV!!
